How can you best support your child's education?
Develop a Partnership With Your Child's Teacher and School Staff
- Come to the school's August open house and meet your child's teacher
- Maintain open communication with your child's teacher and the school
- Be proactive in letting your child's teacher know of any concerns you have
- Get to know who's who at the school
- Teachers, Administration...and most importantly...office staff!
Support Your Child Academically
- READ WITH/TO YOUR CHILD EVERY NIGHT YOU CAN!
- Ask your child to share about their day at school
- Support you child with homework, projects, etc.
- Check PowerSchool on a regular basis for grades and comments
- Attend Parent Teacher Conferences
- Demonstrate a positive attitude about education at home
Get Involved In Your Child's School
- Volunteer in your child's classroom (ex: field trips) and in the school (ex: Helping Hands)
- Attend School Council meetings
- Attend Fundraising Society meetings
- Volunteer at school events
