How can you best support your child's education?

Develop a Partnership With Your Child's Teacher and School Staff

  • Come to the school's August open house and meet your child's teacher 
  • Maintain open communication with your child's teacher and the school
  • Be proactive in letting your child's teacher know of any concerns you have
  • Get to know who's who at the school
    • Teachers, Administration...and most importantly...office staff!

Support Your Child Academically

  • READ WITH/TO YOUR CHILD EVERY NIGHT YOU CAN!
  • Ask your child to share about their day at school
  • Support you child with homework, projects, etc.
  • Check PowerSchool on a regular basis for grades and comments
  • Attend Parent Teacher Conferences
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude about education at home

Get Involved In Your Child's School

  • Volunteer in your child's classroom (ex: field trips) and in the school (ex: Helping Hands)
  • Attend School Council meetings
  • Attend Fundraising Society meetings
  • Volunteer at school events
